Character is the main seat of one's morality.
Character is the inner person of everyone. It will reflect
either the outworking of the sinful nature or the fruit of the
spiritual nature as influenced by the Word.
Character is the combination of qualities and attitudes that
differentiate one person from another.
Character is what the individual actually does when he is
experiencing pressures.
Character is the overall positive and negative qualities of the
individual as revealed by his thoughts, priorities, motivations,
attitudes, feelings, words and actions.
Character is what the individual really does when alone.
Character means the overall effect of outside and inside forces
which make an indelible mark, or embossed image in the inner
person.
1. Character is not what one will ideally be in the very near
future. What one will turn out in the future is different from
what he is at present. Character refers to what a person is
actually, now.
One may act, talk and behave pleasantly when YÁOHU UL's blessing
abound, but his own true character comes out when undergoing
pressures, trials and tests.
2. Character is not only how a person behaves. It also includes
his own inner thoughts, attitudes, feelings, motivations and
values. These factors, though hidden, are reliable indicators
and do reflect the true character of the inner person.
3. Character is not what a person's is when he is not under
pressure. The pressures in life serve as indicators to YÁOHU UL
as to what degree a person's character has been molded.
Daily irritations and pressures from those around an individual
give his real character a chance to surface. How the individual
reacts to pressures, irritations and trials reveal his own true
inner character. An acquired character trait will always
surface, whether the heat is on or off.
4. Character is not what people see on the outside. YÁOHU UL
looks at the heart of each individual. There are lots of people
who do many acts of charity yet, if they proceed out of wicked
hearts and selfish motives or if done for self-glorification out
of pride, those people are truly those with bad character. What
YÁOHU UL desires are noble and kind deeds towards Him and others,
which proceed from pure hearts.
5. Character is not merely knowing what to tell others about
what to do and how to behave. Many know what the Holy Writ says
and are well able to teach and inform others too. But that is
not character. One's character is reflected by how he really
lives by the principles of the written Word, doing what YÁOHU UL
says, being an example for others to follow and emulate. Knowing
what to teach or tell others is not character. Actually doing
what YÁOHU UL says is one's own true character.
6. Character is not only how a person relates to his spiritual
family. Character is how a person relates even to his own
natural family. And most commonly, how a person relates to his
own natural family is how he also is inclined to relate to his
own spiritual family. A Yaohúshuahée (believer) with unbelieving
family members does often win them by having a kind, loving, and
gentle attitude towards them.
7. Character is not how a Yaohúshuahée (believer) treats other
Yaohúshuahím. To believe that how you treat non-believers is not
important in YÁOHU UL's sight is a deception from the enemy.
Real upright character will show forth in all kinds of
predicament and towards all kinds of people. A Yaohúshuahée must
respect and obey his own authorities, whether they are believers
or not, whether they are cruel or kind.
